SRYSL RAINOUT PROCEDURE
Rain can often force fields to be closed to play. To find out if Santa Rosa fields are closed, coaches have the following options:
- Visit the SRYSL web site: www.srysl.org and look for posted field information on the right side of the home page. Every effort is made to post an update as necessary.
- Call the SRYSL voice message system at 707 544-8369. This option is only for coaches or ONE designated team representative! If everyone uses this line, no one will receive the information in a timely manner.
Check the web site often as field conditions are unpredictable.
Weekday closures will be posted by 3:00 pm
Weekend closures will be posted by 7:30 am Saturday/Sunday morning.
Sometimes closures are posted earlier than the times listed above or days earlier if it is known the fields will be closed.
The first Saturday or Sunday league game of the season which is rained out will automatically be re-scheduled to the November rain out date – generally on the same fields, same times. If a second Saturday or Sunday is rained out, those games would be cancelled.
The League owns no fields. The majority of fields used are City of Santa Rosa Parks or local school district fields. If fields are used for games or practices when wet, the League risks loss of field use privileges.
There is a $100 fine for playing on a clearly wet or posted (closed) field.
